- 2020 EV3 Hackathon
February 8, 2020
12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
The 2020 Robotics for Youth Hackathon is a newly designed EV3 competition in which the challenge is not released to teams until the day of the competition. Teams are allowed to bring pre-built robots and programs to the competition.
A team may consist of 1-4 members with a separate coach (not a team member). Building parts are limited to LEGO Elements. Laptops may not be shared during the competition between teams.
On the competition day, teams will have 30 minutes to learn the challenge, and start adjusting their robot and/or programs. They will be able to start testing their robot after this period is up for a subsequent 2.5 hour period. During this time, the team can test their robot on the field. If the team decides that they are ready to have an official run, indicate that to the referee and an official run will be scored.
Each team will get 3 official runs to score points; the highest scoring match (of the 3 official rounds) will be used for award qualification. Each match lasts 2 minutes and 30 seconds long (practice and official).
Communication with non-competitors (including parents) outside the competition is prohibited and may result in a penalty. Cheating or tampering with other teams’ robot/tools may result in disqualification.
